Louisiana Technical Writing A/B

This course introduces students to the field of technical writing. They begin by learning about fundamental writing skills and the steps in the technical writing process. Students will know and use technical writing terminology and be able to understand, interpret, and compare charts and graphs. They will also produce different technical writing products, including manuals, instructions, summaries, and analyses. In creating these products, students will demonstrate an understanding of their audience, as well as the methods and strategies for organizing and presenting information. Students will understand and use elements of design to help their writing appeal to their audience. This course will also help students identify and prepare for careers in the field of technical writing.
