Texas History A/B

Texas History promotes active learning using interactive learning objects and strategies to engage students and support educators. Its chronological focus traces across twelve major eras of Texas history as outlined in the TEKS. Beginning with the history of Indigenous groups in the region prior to European contact, the two-semester course ends with contemporary issues of concern in twenty-first century Texas. In addition to providing historical content, the course supports the appropriate development of social studies skills such as identifying context and bias, interpreting maps and charts, avoiding plagiarism, and accurate citation of sources. It also meets students where they are, drawing from their personal experience to promote relevance of the content.This course is aligned to Texas state standards.
