Back to School Support Pack for ELLs

A new academic year means a new cohort of students. And in a classroom with English language learners (ELLs), teachers have lots of names to remember, need to ascertain levels of proficiency in English, and familiarize students with their new learning environment too! That’s why we’ve created this pack which can support you in a number of situations with new students.

This pack includes resources to help teachers with a new cohort of students, including ELLs, such as:

• School area or day flash cards for signposting key areas of the school and critical times in the school day to build students’ confidence.
• Visual display timetable sheets to show what you have planned for your students for the day.
• Levels of understanding flash cards for students to show you whether they understand something, so you can provide help if needed.
